Environmental, Social & Governance Strategy

Our ESG strategy includes three main areas – Environment, People and Governance – and it materializes through crucial existing or scheduled initiatives, focused on integrating sustainability goals into corporate processes and build value over the long period.

Environment

We promote goals and initiatives to reduce our environmental impact and foster our transition toward an increasingly efficient and responsible production model. In the pursuit of these goals, we focus on water consumption, waste, and emission reduction targets, on the redefinition and implementation of the 2035 Decarbonization Plan, and on including all of these objectives in our business processes.

People

We bring out people’s value and their competences, by promoting a healthy, safe, inclusive and respectful work environment. Consistently with wage transparency and gender equality principles, our people-centric initiatives accompany the entire life cycle of our employees, while also supporting the organization’s growth.

Governance

Our organizational model integrates sustainability issues in our strategic and operational management, by strengthening ethical and responsible behaviors along the entire value chain. We share information effectively, both vertically, to ensure that our Top Management is fully aware of all environmental, social and governance issues – and horizontally – through multi-functional work teams coordinating all the roles involved.

Sustainability pillars

Since the onset of our sustainability journey, we have been constantly committed to incorporating environmental considerations into our business vision. This dedication is reflected in FIS’s alignment with 9 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Sustainability governance

The Company has established a Governance Framework to monitor ESG and sustainability aspects, with dedicated working groups who provide ongoing supervision of the strategic priorities, risks and opportunities related to the energy transition and to environmental, social and governance matters. Through this organizational structure, FIS can address such challenges effectively, while pursuing its objectives and creating long-term value for its stakeholders and local communities.
